STELA E LEMNOS
In 1886, two members of the french archeological
school of Athens found an inscription over the stone of a tomb in the village
of Kaminas of the island Lemnos. The inscription belonged to the seventh
century (VII) B.c .
The two members of the archeological
school published this finding in the schools newsletter (G. Cousin and
F.Durrbach, Bas-relief de Lemnos avec inscriptions.Bull.d.corr. Hellen.1886, 1)
Through the albanian language, the
scholars Zaharia Majan, Robert d’Angely, Nermin Vlora Falaschi as well as other
foreign and native researchers noticed that there was written in albanian but
they couldn’t completely decipher it.
But what was actually written there?
Look
at my decryption in the table and in the following text.
Over
the tombs tile, 2700 years ago were written these words:
HOΓΑIEΣ NA_ΦΟʘ ΖIAΖI MAΡAΖ MAF
ΣI
AN YFΕIΣ AFIΣ EFIΣʘO
SE ΡON AIʘ*
ΦΑΜΑΥΑ
ΣΙ ΑΝ SE ΡON AI
MOΡIN
AIΓ
AΧEΡ TAFAΡΣIΟ
ZI F’AI
The
word “ΦOʘ” is read “thotë”
in albanian means “to say, says ”
the word “MAF”
is read “math”→
madh, in albanian – means “big”
They are read like this because the letter “F”
has a double phonetic meaning; it is articulated not only as F but
also as Th.
The word “AIʘ* is read “Ata“-it
means “they”, (the personal pronoun “ai” means
“he” turns into plural into “ait” which means “ata ” – they.)
From this row of words, it is understood that the worrior is in
war, somewhere away from his family and tribe and he is worried how are the
people of his tribe and birthplace doing ,because he and his friends continue
to be alive.
ΦΑΜΑΥΑ ΣΙ ΑΝ SE ΡON AI MOΡIN AIΓ
FAMAJA
SI ANE, SE RON AI, MORIN AIG
Ofcourse,
Hogies (through the messanger) would specially ask also about his family. And
when it comes to family, he says it in singular, therefore the question is
given in this form:
FAMAJA
SI ANE; SE RON AI, MORIN AIG.
Which
means: How is the family, because he is alive, they revenge.
The word “FAMAJA” is read “familja” family
(until before a century, in all the albanian newspapers of the year 1900 and
later, we find the words “familja” family
written in the form “femia”)
The
word “AIΓ“, is read “hak” means
revenge, (the form of the word “AIG” is found even today in the word “Shpag”,
kërkojnë shpagim, marrin hak – to revenge, to acquire vengeance)
AΧEΡ TAFAΡΣI Ο ZI F’AI
AHER
TAFARSI O SI F’AI
HOGIES. His people there in his birthplace should not lose their
hopes, that’s why they must celebrate, and be happy.
And this is the reason why on this big poem, the word “Happiness”
is mentioned twice.
The word “AxER” is read “atehere“- it means “then” /”so”
The word “TAFARSI“, is read “të thërrasi“- it means to cheer
(“t’thërresë”, fisi, familja), (brohorasë)-to cheer, the tribe the family
through shouting.)
Endly we are recalling once more the marvelous poem in albanian:
HOΓΑIEΣ NA_ΦΟʘ ΖIAΖI MAΡAΖ MAF
HOGIES NA FOT SI AI MARAS MAF
HOGIES NA FOT SI AI MARAS MAF
(Hogies na thotë se është në maraz të madh) Hogies tells us that he is in a great/big worry )
ΣI AN YFΕIΣ AFIΣ EFIΣʘO SE ΡON AIʘ
SI ANE YFIS FIS EFISTO SE RON AIT
ΣI AN YFΕIΣ AFIΣ EFIΣʘO SE ΡON AIʘ
SI ANE YFIS FIS EFISTO SE RON AIT
(Si jane fisi dhe jo fisi, e festo se rrojnë ata ) – How is the tribe and the
non tribe (the other people), and celebration/celebrate because they live/ are
alive.
ΦΑΜΑΥΑ ΣΙ ΑΝ SE ΡON AI MOΡIN AIΓ
FAMAJA SI ANE SE RON AI MORIN AIG
(Familja si janë, se rron ai, marrin hak) – How is the family, because he
lives, they revenge.FAMAJA SI ANE SE RON AI MORIN AIG
AΧEΡ TAFAΡΣIΟ ZI F’AI
AHER TAFARSI O SI F’AI
(Atëhere të thërrisni (gëzoi) ashtu sic na thotë ai) – So / Then shout/ cheer
/cherish just like he says.
— Note: Hogies* means Leader (hogies = hodies)
